Job Overview:
Are you passionate about outdoor work and golf course maintenance? We are looking for a dedicated Greenkeeper to join our client's team. This is your chance to play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty and playability of a historic golf course. Responsibilities:
Detailed Course Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections to identify areas needing care and develop effective treatment plans.
Irrigation Management: Operate and maintain advanced irrigation systems to ensure optimal water usage and turf health.
Course Feature Maintenance: Participate in the construction and upkeep of key course features, including tees, greens, and bunkers.
Pest Management: Implement integrated pest management strategies to maintain a healthy and attractive turf.
Environmental Stewardship: Collaborate with the grounds team on sustainable practices and environmental initiatives.
Winter Maintenance: Engage in winter activities such as tree management and course enhancement projects.
Turf Grass Selection: Advice on the best turf grass choices considering the course's microclimate and soil conditions.
Tournament Preparation: Work with management to prepare the course for tournaments and special events, ensuring it meets competitive standards.
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Greenkeeping or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in a similar role within a golf course or sports turf environment. PA1, PA2 & PA6 certifications are a plus.
Strong understanding of golf course operations and maintenance practices.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
A full driving license is advantageous.
