Tournament Operations Administrator - The PGA

The PGA’s mission is to improve the personal and professional lives of its Members. To assist with delivering its core objectives, the PGA is seeking to recruit a permanent Tournament Operations Administrator who will primarily be based remotely (from home)/location independent. This is an important role being responsible for departmental administration which will include providing supervisory support to one permanent and two seasonal field based administrators.


Reporting to the Head of Tournament Operations, duties will include:

  • Training, supervising and supporting staff with all tournament administration

  • Managing the day to day set up and use of the tournament management software, BlueGolf to include implementation, development of the system and training staff

  • Developing and ensuring implementation of minimum standards of customer care

  • Ensuring all PGA and PGA European Tour pre-event deadlines are met

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of entries, prize fund schedules and reconciliation of fees

  • Administration of tournament Regulations in relation to fines, withdrawal fees and production of data for Member disciplinaries

  • Ensuring PGA European Tour obligations are met in terms of Membership information, communication, fee processing and entries

  • Responsible for tracking the use of SMS facilities through BlueGolf, ensuring standardised and appropriate use.

  • Formulating and maintaining the Tournament Administration Handbook and Administration Decisions Book, ensuring communication and implementation of processes identified therein.

  • Compiling accurate, relevant and timely tournament statistics

  • Cordinate incoming/outgoing communications via a variety of methods

  • Assisting the Head of Tournment Operations to ensure Health & Safety obligations are met.


This is a full-time, permanent role with multiple peaks of activity. Core working hours of the business are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday however flexibility will be required to enable longer working hours during the height of the season. Although the role is remotely/location independent based, the successful candidate will be able to commute to PGA Headquarters, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands where regular meetings as well as job induction/training will be held.


Essential experience/knowledge includes: proven administration skills at supervisory level providing a high level of customer service; excellent IT skills with data base management; and a good knowledge of the game of golf. An understanding of health and safety regulations as well as the internal structure of professional golf is desirable.
