Seasonal Tournament Administrator (Field Based) - Fixed term from 1 April until 7 October 2022

The PGA’s mission is to improve the personal and professional lives of its Members. To assist with delivering its core objectives, the PGA is seeking to recruit two Seasonal Tournament Administrators who, when not providing administration support from field offices at PGA National, Regional and PGA Europro Tour Events, will be based remotely/location independent assisting with general day to day administration for the National Tournament Department.

Reporting to the Head of Tournament Operations, duties will include:

  • Coordinating the administration function in field tournament offices to include registering players, production of tournament paperwork including scorecards and recording of scores in line with PGA policy.

  • Ensuring event deadlines are met in relation to the general administration of tournaments including closing dates, processing entry fees and chasing rejected payments, closing date reminders, publication of draws and competitor information prior to Tournament hand over and prize funds for approval.

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely recording of entries to enable reconciliation of fees with PGA Accounts and up to date member entry information.

  • General day to day operation of Tournament Management software (BlueGolf) including the initial set up of tournaments.

  • Maintain all public and Member facing web information accurately, including updating BlueGolf News pages for Apps.

  • Produce/action correspondence using emails, SMS, etc.

  • Continually delivering good standards of customer care and service.

  • Collating and maintaining accurate and relevant statistics relating to tournaments.

The post-holder will be required to travel extensively throughout the UK attending tournaments, as a consequence a significant amount of time will be spent away from home. Core working hours of the business are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday however, significantly longer working hours are required which will include some evening, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Essential experience/knowledge includes: proven administration skills providing a high level of customer service; excellent IT skills with data base management; and a good knowledge of the game of golf.

The successful candidate will be able to plan, prioritise and monitor multiple tasks against deadlines whilst working as part of a team and unsupervised. Being organised, having a flexible approach with an excellent attention to detail are key requirements.
