An excellent opportunity has opened for the role of a Golf Sales Manager at the Club.
Overall responsibility for all group golf and membership sales.
Deals with events and membership sales from initial enquiry, tour and show round to contracting and conversion.
When required, works with the Golf Operations team on the day of the event to ensure successful event delivery.
Deputises in the absence of the Golf Operations Manager to lead both the golf shop and outside services team.
Primary Responsibilities
• All group golf days from initial sales phase, planning and contract to on day event delivery. • Where necessary, assisting the meetings and events team in dealing with enquiries for weddings, private dining, corporate functions and conferences.
• Preparing weekly function sheets and liaising with all relevant departments on requirements of clients.
• Responding to all corporate and membership enquiries received either by phone, email or in person.
• Day to day management of Golf Reservationist to ensure that all member and guest enquires are being dealt with in an efficient and timely manner.
• Identifying customer’s needs, handling efficiently any questions they may have, sending a full proposal.
• Arranging tours/show rounds and familiarisation trips of the facility for all group golf and membership enquiries.
• Carrying out follow up telephone calls during enquiry stage or after a function or event/membership show around has taken place.
• Preparation of monthly reports and critique.
• Develop and maintain relationships (new groups/enquires, previous groups, current membership base, past prospect, local businesses and charitable organisations) to promote corporate golf, membership and charity golf tournaments and ancillary spend associated with those events.
• Prepares and distributes information pertaining to tournaments, new and prospect members, critical dates and on course closures and maintenance to members, groups and individuals.
• Schedules and maintains tee times for members, groups and individual play ensuring that everything is booked accurately and in line with client request.
• Working alongside the members’ tournament committee in order to co-ordinate the annual members’ competition calendar.
• Attend business networking events, exhibitions and trade shows to raise the profile of Farleigh within the local market.
• Recording all information accurately in the booking system, confirming the booking and sending relevant contract and paperwork.
• Diary management – ensuring we maximise function space and golf course occupancy to its capacity.
• Effectively up-selling to our guests – upgraded packages, menus, golf buggies/rental equipment, PGA Professional tuition and retail packages.
• Achieving individual and team budgets and targets set.
• Chasing and obtaining deposits for all functions and banking them correctly.
• Completing invoices and liaising with the accounts department.
• Preparing of menus, table plans and place cards for all functions if required.
• Assisting the Food and Beverage Manager with functions on the day i.e. Meet and Greet all guests and set up of function room if applicable.
• Assisting with ideas for in house promotions.
• Recording and updating client databases.
• Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the general manager. General

• To maintain a professional standard of dress and appearance, in line with company standards
• Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work area
