Royal Blackheath Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world, is steeped in history and tradition and provides a unique and wonderful golfing experience.
Its stunning 17th century clubhouse, Eltham Lodge, is home to a renowned golf museum containing hundreds of years’ worth of priceless golfing memorabilia.
We are searching for a full-time Golf Operations Supervisor to work in the Club’s main office, as an integral part of a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable team.
We are looking for someone who carries out their work with pride, enthusiasm and to exceptionally high standards. A keen eye for detail and sound knowledge of the golf industry is vital.
You will have overall responsibility for a busy golf operation, including daily tee sheet management, as well taking the lead on the administration and delivery of member competitions, matches, open competitions, corporate golf days and other golfing events.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and department heads, you will be able to work evenings and weekends to achieve our service and commercial goals. Reporting to the Chief Executive, your role is a vital one, as the first point of contact for members and visitors with all golf and membership related queries.
Reports to: Chief Executive Close liaison with: Head Professional and Department Managers Responsibilities:
• Regularly review the public and member website content, ensuring information is up to date.
• Complete diary management, with ‘end to end’ organisation for competitions and matches.
• Proactive contribution to the content on the Club’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts.
• Responsibility for tee sheet management, course utilisation and promotion of visitor golf.
• As part of a professional and innovative communication strategy, assist with the circulation of general emails to the wider membership.
• Ensure that notice boards are exceptionally presentable and only display relevant, up to date information, posters and notices.
• Ensuring that members and visitors are aware of and adhere to the rules of the Club.
• Assist in the organisation, planning and promotion of the Club’s social events.
• Maintaining contact with South-East Association clubs to progress SEA competition updates.
• Maintain contact and a good relationship with Kindred and local clubs, arrange reciprocal visits, and liaise with match organisers to assist with fixture arrangements.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of the Club’s most prestigious competitions, including but not limited to, The Boys’ Medal, Invitational Foursomes and the Open Royal Blackheath Trophy.
• Attending to queries on handicap records, processing new member handicap and maintaining the IG and WHS handicap systems.
• Assisting in the arrangement and delivery of bookings for approved societies and visitors.
• Marshalling of general play on the course when required and to ensure total revenue capture.
• Attending meetings and liaison with third party suppliers, National and County Golf Unions.
• Attend sub-committee meetings as and when requested.
• Be proactive in maximising sales, generating revenue and monitoring costs.
• Act as an integral part of the management team and report to the Chief Executive.
• Conducting tours of the museum and collection to members, guests and visitors, as required.
• Be responsible for business planning and budget control.
• Demonstrate excellent leadership and technical skills within a golf and hospitality environment, providing complete customer & member satisfaction at all times.
• Implement Board policies as directed by the Chief Executive.
• Suggest ideas and implement improvements for developing the business.
• Maintain strict security of the clubhouse and museum.
• Take responsibility to rectify and report on hazardous situations, accidents and near misses.
• Be familiar with first aid and fire and emergency procedures and actively enforce these.
• Duty management across other areas of the business, including but not limited to the arrival of visiting golfers and societies and ensuring a seamless handover to the Front of House teams.
Required Experience:
• A minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
• Experience in the daily, weekly, monthly running of member competitions and golf days.
• Proven experience in tee sheet, green fee and/or Club diary management.
• A sound knowledge of or keen interest in golf.
• The ability to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. Desirable Qualifications and Skills

Remuneration: c £28,000 p.a. plus benefits .
