Golf Operations Manager - Bearwood Lakes


The Golf Operations Manager will manage the day-to-day golf operations of the club with a key focus on the Golf Shop, aiming to provide the highest levels of service and merchandise offerings to cater for all our members and guests. The Golf Operations Manager will support the Golf Operations Supervisor and their team to ensure best practices are in place. The Golf Operations Manager will support the Director of Golf as a key management figure and act as Duty Manager for the department in the absence of the Director of Golf. They should have a high profile/presence at the Golf Club particularly during busy times both in and outside the clubhouse.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:


  1. Manage the day-to-day golf operations of the club, with a key focus on the golf shop.

  2. Assist the golf operations supervisor to deliver “best in class” service across the golf operation.

  3. Responsible for sourcing and purchasing shop stock to achieve target revenues.

  4. Establish good working relationships with all golf shop suppliers and explore new/alternative suppliers that align with member/guest needs.

  5. Establish a merchandise plan, ensuring stock is rotated around the space and best in class displays are produced.

  6. Manage the shop inventory through stock taking procedures and regular stock taking.

  7. Manage team members to ensure optimal performance is obtained, hold one-to-one and team meetings.

  8. Ensure customer service excellence is consistently delivered, and revenues and profitability are maximised across the department.

  9. Attend management meetings in the absence of the DOG.

  10. To maintain standards and consistency of delivery of service as directed and in accordance to the policies and procedures set by the department.

  11. Uphold a 5-star appearance in accordance with company guidelines.

  12. Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and Club policies.


Candidate Profile


Required Skills & Experience


  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the golf/club industry in a similar role

  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional levels of member & guest service

  • Experience successfully managing a team

  • Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with members, guests, and colleagues

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong knowledge in MS Office suite, Point of Sale and tee time systems and golf tournament software

  • Must have a valid driver’s license


Preferred but not Essential


  • Accredited PGA Status

  • Business or Sports/Golf Management related degree

  • Knowledge of Jonas, Golf Genius, WHS Software

  • Golf operations management experience
