Minchinhampton Golf Club (MGC) is a private members’ golf club with over 130 years of history and three outstanding and unique courses.
The Club currently has over 2200 members making it one of the largest member Clubs in England. It has an excellent reputation not only for its courses, but also for its food, customer service and attention to detail for members and visitors and regularly hosts’ Open Qualifying, National Championships and County Events
The successful candidate will work with the Board at a strategic level, having executive responsibility for the operational running of the Club, its premises and courses within defined levels of authority and in accordance with MGC’s 5-year strategic plan, policies and procedures.
Key Skills Required:
Ø Proven track record in member club management.
Ø Sound business, financial and commercial skills.
Ø A knowledge of a busy Food & Beverage operation.
Ø Ability to identify areas of the business where potential savings are possible & growth opportunities are exploited.
Ø Pro-active communication, both internally and externally, to drive member recruitment and other visitor revenue through a robust sales & marketing strategy.
Ø Understanding of Finance and IT packages such as Sage, IG, BRS, websites etc.
Ø Day-to-day management of Club staff with practical knowledge of HR/employment law.
Ø Compliance of relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to health & safety, licensing and equality legislation.
Ø Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and the smooth running of the Club and all its facilities throughout the golfing year.
Ø Representing the Club effectively in its dealings with all third parties.
Ø A strong-willed character with a dynamic approach to managing and a sense of humour. Very much ‘hands on’ with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Ø Approachable, people's person who puts customer service at the top of his attributes.
Ø An ability to question current practice, evaluate and instigate change for the better.
Ø Communication skills should include traditional and modern styles. Embracing the website, e-communication, twitter, facebook, and all social media will be of great help
Ø An eye for detail and proven track record in improving performance in golf and hospitality operations.
