An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, self-motivated and forward-thinking individual to develop their career as the new General Manager at the historic Burford Golf Club.
Burford Golf Club is widely recognised as one of Oxfordshire’s premier golf clubs, is located on the edge of the picturesque Cotswolds and possesses its’ highly rated and picturesque 18 hole parkland course.
As a members club, Burford GC is constantly evolving, with new PGA professional Services, enhanced practice facilities and a brand-new events and hospitality team. More recently, the Club has undergone a complete change of governance to a Board of Directors, and we are developing strategies to support our future success.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record in golf club management and in managing and inspiring dedicated teams. They need to be knowledgeable and experienced in the world of golf, have strong links with the professional golfing bodies and possess the business and IT skills needed to take our current and future operation forward.
Financial management, budgeting and planning, are key parts of this role and the successful General Manager will work closely with the Finance Director. Reporting directly to the Chairman, they should also be able to contribute positively towards the strategic goals set out by the Board.
The ability and willingness to communicate with Members and Staff in a friendly and positive manner is essential and candidates should have strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
