Course Manager - Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands Golf Club

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated Course Manager to join the team at Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands Golf Club (www.aspleyguisegolfclub.co.uk)

You will appreciate the history of the club and course and have the ambition, drive, and attention to detail to continually improve, strive for excellence and enhance the reputation of the course. As a proven team leader you will be able to prioritise and multi-task, and work within the senior management team, remaining diplomatic and inclusive.


It is expected that the successful candidate will have had a minimum of 3 years' experience of budget responsibility and leading a successful team as well as being able to demonstrate their own vision of how a course should be presented, a passion for the adoption of greener working practices and the ability to influence people, whether colleagues, Directors or Club members.


Essential

Ø Hands on, capable of working well under pressure as well as having the ability to supervise and motivate your colleagues.

Ø Possess a wealth of technical greenkeeping and agronomy skills including fine turf experience coupled with the eye of a golfer to ensure the course is presented with the golfer in mind.

Ø Ability and experience to inspire, motivate and manage a team to achieve the objectives set by the Golf Club, and contribute to setting these objectives.

Ø Demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, effective communications, strong IT capabilities, and interpersonal skills with appropriate professional qualifications.

Ø Have an eye for detail and commitment to deliver the highest standards, and the ability to install this culture within the wider team. Working with a pragmatic “can do” attitude.

Ø A good working knowledge and application of health and safety, employment, and other legislative requirements.

Ø Be smart in appearance, present the team in a professional manner and maintain a clean and tidy maintenance facility.

Ø Excellent administrative skills, able to prepare/manage operational and Capex budgets, and produce accurate, timely reports.

Ø Competent in the operation and maintenance of a modern computerised irrigation system.


Desirable

Ø Heathland and Park Land Experience

Ø Construction experience, specifically relating to drainage projects

Ø Working knowledge of, or desire to create, a sustainable green keeping operation to secure the long term future viability of the course/club.


Qualifications, skills, experience

Ø Hold Level 3 and 4 qualifications in turf management or equivalent.

Ø Hold PA1, PA2, and PA6 spray qualifications.

Ø First aid at work certificate holder

Ø Full driving licence

Ø Excavator experience & Chainsaw certificates (desirable)


Remuneration: An attractive salary package including BIGGA membership, full support with career development, further education and training + golfing privileges. There is NO on-site accommodation.
