Clubhouse Manager - Porters Park Golf Club.

Porters Park Golf Club are searching for suitable candidates to join our ambitious and hardworking senior management team. The right candidate should be experienced in working within in a small team, have excellent interpersonal skills and excel at forming relationships. We are looking for someone to help us improve and streamline our organisational processes as well as maintain a high quality of attention to detail within the day to day financial management of the Club.

Main Purpose of Job

  • To be a member of the Senior Management team and work collaboratively with the Accounts Manager, Operations Manager, Head Chef, Course Manager and Head Professional

  • To be responsible for the day to day smooth and efficient management of the clubhouse and clubhouse surroundings

  • To realise the potential for growth of the bar and catering services at Porters Park Golf Club and ensure the Club’s financial success, delivering a long-term strategic plan for its development Porters Park Golf Club, Shenley Hill, Radlett, Hertfordshire WD7 7AZ

  • To ensure an attractive and appetising food and beverage offering for Members and visitors

  • To work closely with the Operations Manager and ensure the Club diary is up to date and managed effectively

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Club’s diary/executive on Intelligent Golf (IG) planner collaboratively with the Operations Manager ensuring that all events both on and off the course are booked and managed effectively

  • Implement Board policy as directed by the General Manager

  • To be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and legal obligations relating to the Clubhouse and bar

  • To liaise with the Head Chef in relation to the administration of the catering department

  • To liaise with the external stocktaker, Captain, the Entertainments chair and any persons appointed by the Management Board

  • To be responsible for the recruitment, induction, training, development and management of all Front of House staff, including customer service, access and licensing

  • To ensure that all Front of House staff have adequate and appropriate training in Health and Safety and incident and fire evacuation procedures

  • To be responsible for drawing up rotas and providing payroll information for all Front of House staff

  • To lead on and have responsibility for the financial operations of the clubhouse, clubhouse surroundings and bar operations to ensure efficient running and maximisation of profit

  • To develop and deliver long term strategic business development of the clubhouse, bar and catering functions in collaboration with the General Manager

  • To assist the General Manager in the delivery and execution of the Club’s Marketing strategy

  • To monitor, review and refresh beverage menus at the Club in order to provide all Members and Visitors with interesting and appetising choices

  • To be responsible for cash management including reconciliation of takings and cash banking Porters Park Golf Club, Shenley Hill, Radlett, Hertfordshire WD7 7AZ

  • To have overall responsibility for ordering of bar stock, receiving deliveries and to develop relationships with existing and new suppliers

  • To be responsible for regular and accurate beverage stock checks

  • To work closely with the Accounts Manager on providing clear and accurate financial information including sales and purchases

  • To ensure that the bar and kitchen equipment is regularly checked, maintained and repaired where necessary

  • To act as a key holder and be on the emergency call-out list

  • Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required

  • To lead our team of clubhouse, bar and kitchen staff, communicating effectively to ensure the motivation of these staff.

  • Staffing levels will be agreed in advance and only changed at the instruction of the General Manager

  • You will have authority to order replacement goods and items that are required to manage the upkeep of the clubhouse, clubhouse surroundings and bar and catering operations

  • To work with the General Manager in developing risk assessments for the building and the production of the overall risk register

  • To operate within the Club’s GDPR and health and safety policies Additional
