We are a “pay and play” course meaning golfers do not have to be a member to play – everyone is welcome.


This welcome feeling starts with our team at the clubhouse; ensuring high standards of service will be the primary focus of our new Assistant Manager.


Salary range, contract and benefits £25,000 - £35,000 per annum

Salary based on experience and qualifications

Role Overview


The Assistant Manager will work closely with our General Manager with the day-to-day running of the business.


The Assistant Manager will play a key role is ensuring high standards of customer service are met and will take responsibility for the Clubhouse.


As well as assisting in the day-to-day operation and other clubhouse activities, the person in this role will:

• Help to develop sales & profitability

• Maintain and enhance the reputation of the golf course

• Ensuring consistently high standards of customer service are met and exceed expectations with the use of staff training

• Ensure that the clubhouse and surrounding areas are maintained to a very high standard Responsibilities A good thing about this role is that there will be loads of variation. You will oversee an array of different tasks and will have knowledge of the full operation so that, when required, you can step in and pick up tasks normally undertaken by other members of the team.

• Act as first line support for any employee and customer issues

• Ensure all shifts are covered in the clubhouse with hours recorded so all staff are paid appropriately

• Oversee the organisation of events in the clubhouse – weddings, parties, wakes, golf events such as the presentation evening and get trophies engraved

• Be responsible for ordering stock of food, beverages and other sellable items

• Maintain all facilitates (e.g. clubhouse, canopy, beer garden, hire clubs) to a high standard and organise any repairs promptly

• Liaising with the security company when required and be a key holder for the clubhouse

• Organise responses to customers by ensuring emails are replied to efficiently and phone contact is handled well

• Deal with feedback from customers in a fair and efficient manner

• Liaise with our two handicap secretaries on all matters relating to the efficient running of club competitions and handicaps

• Ensure that proper standards of health, safety and hygiene are maintained and documented.

• Training new starters and ensuring training certificates are up to date • Ensure that all staff are aware of the daily business and upcoming key events What would make you great for this position?

• You enjoy and have experience managing a team, being a part of that team and undertaking some tasks alone

• You are customer focused, have high standards and are motivated to find solutions to issues

• Knowledge of & an interest in golf (or, at least, a keenness to learn) • Basic computer skills

• Reliability is very important for this role


Other important information


The work schedule for this Assistant Clubhouse Manager role is primarily daytimes, however this role will include working weekends and evenings when events take place, or when the need arises.


There is no public transport available to get to the golf course. You will therefore need to have your own means of transport to get to and from work.
